Ivan McMahon
Ivan McMahon is a co-founder and producer at Éiru Films Ltd, where he is developing and producing a growing slate of feature films and television drama with Irish and international partners. Most recently, Ivan served as co-producer and line producer on the international co-production Ar Ais Arís for Cúla4/TG4, produced with Tailored Films and beActive Entertainment, and co-produced the acclaimed feature Learning to Breathe Underwater, which premiered at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival before winning the Audience Award at the Galway Film Fleadh.
With more than 30 years' experience in the international film and television industry, Ivan is one of Ireland's most experienced line producers, having delivered major feature films and high-end television productions for broadcasters and studios including BBC, Channel 5, ARD, ZDF, SBS Australia, RTÉ, Virgin Media and TG4. His extensive credits include Hardacres, The Young Offenders, The Good Ship Murder, The Cellar, Dating Amber, The Winter Lake, Teacher, Der Irland Krimi and numerous international feature films and television dramas.
Before moving into producing, Ivan built an impressive career as a First Assistant Director, working on more than forty feature films, television dramas, music videos and commercials. He began his career working on genre films produced by legendary filmmaker Roger Corman, experiences that laid the foundation for his practical, collaborative approach to filmmaking.
Alongside his production career, Ivan has lectured and mentored in screenwriting at the University of Galway's Huston School of Film & Digital Media and the Atlantic Technological University, supporting the next generation of Irish screenwriters and filmmakers.
Ivan holds an Honours Master's Degree in Screenwriting and Film Studies from the University of Galway. His expertise spans producing, line producing, international co-production, production management and creative development, combining decades of production experience with a deep understanding of story and script development.
Heather Higgins
Heather Higgins is a co-founder and producer at Éiru Films Ltd, where she is developing and producing a slate of feature films and television drama with Irish and international partners. Recent projects include the international co-production Ar Ais Arís for Cúla4/TG4, produced with Tailored Films and beActive Entertainment, and a growing slate of Screen Ireland-supported drama projects currently in development.
Heather has over 20 years' experience in film, television, communications and business leadership. Before moving into full-time producing, she spent 11 years as a television producer with Bloomberg. She is Director of Development at the Academy Award®-qualifying Galway Film Fleadh, where she has played a leading role in the festival's industry programme and strategic development for over a decade. She also served as a communications consultant for the Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA).
As a producer, Heather co-produced the acclaimed feature film Learning to Breathe Underwater, which celebrated its world premiere at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival before its Irish premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh, where it went on to win the Audience Award, recognising it as the festival's highest-rated film by audiences. Alongside her work in film production, Heather is the founder of First Bite Catering, one of Ireland's leading film and television catering companies, and formally ran a specialist public relations consultancy providing communications services to major film, television and arts organisations across Ireland.
Heather is Chair of the Loughs Agency, where she provides strategic leadership and governance across environmental, tourism and cross-border initiatives.
She holds a Master's Degree in Journalism and an Honours Bachelor's Degree in Communications. In recognition of her emerging work as a producer, Heather was nominated for the Bingham Ray New Talent Award at the Galway Film Fleadh. Her expertise spans producing, project development, international co-production, strategic communications, business management and stakeholder engagement, combining creative vision with extensive industry and commercial experience.
Alex Stewart
Alex Stewart is the media and communications executive for Éiru Films. Alex is a public relations and marketing professional specialising in arts marketing and communications. She has over 15 years of experience with a career spanning the United States and Ireland. In the US she worked in Nashville, Tennessee at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and in Tampa, Florida at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, the fourth largest performing arts center in the US. In Ireland she has worked with artists, organisations and local authorities including the Galway Film Fleadh, Irish Film and Television Academy, Macnas, Galway Culture Company, Galway City and County Councils, Galway Community Circus, Creative Places Tuam, Stiúideo Fia and more.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and a Master of Fine Arts in Arts Management from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
